What's special?
Just west of Lizard Island, Turtle Group National Park protects four very small, vegetated islands. The surrounding waters and reefs are protected in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and World Heritage Area.
Exploring Turtle Group
Bush camp on all three Turtle Islands or camp on the northern side of Nymph Island. No facilities are provided on these remote islands. Be totally self-sufficient. Take water and a fuel stove. Remove your rubbish.
Check the marine park zoning plan for fishing and collecting restrictions in the surrounding marine park waters. Estuarine crocodiles live in the adjacent waters and marine stingers are present between October and May.
Getting there
Turtle Islands are 30km west of Lizard Island. Nymph Island is 35km east of Murdoch Point. Access is by private boat.
